Abreu & Marques participated in the annual global conference on Citizenship and Residence, organized b Henley & Partners, and which took place on the 21 and 22 of November, 2012 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The conference represents the annual gathering of consultants – legal and economic – on the matter of citizenship and residency. There were interventions from representatives of the United States of America, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Malta, St. Kittis and Nevis, as well as from the Emirates. In attendance were lawyers from around the world, namely, and in addition to the speakers, from China, South Korea, Vietnam, Luxembourg, Jersey, Belgium, Russia, Egypt and Cyprus. Abreu & Marques, represented by its partners Afonso Barroso and Sofia Amram disclosed the new Portuguese legal regime of access to residence based on investment.
