Afonso Barroso participated, in representation of Portugal, on the 29 fo September ,2011, in the International Employment Conference, which took place in Cambridge, England, organized by the law firm Taylor & Vinters. Taylor & Vinters is the English law firm integrating the The Law Firm Network, an international network of law firms, of which Abreu & Marques is part since 2002. The Law Firm Network, is comprised by several law firms from various jurisdictions including from India, China, Turkey, Canada, United States of America, México, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
The conference dealt in a perspective of comparative law with the labour law regimes in eighteen jurisdictions and its impact on the execution of foreign investment in each of such jurisdictions. In attendance, in addition to lawyers representing each of the eighteen jurisdictions, were a group of United Kingdom foreign investors, some with already existing presences abroad and others in the process of implementing these. Country Guides on the jurisdictions participating were distributed, containing resumed descriptions of the respective labour legal regimes
